PLAYER SAFETY
PLAYER AND MEMBER SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY
The Safety of the Players, Parents, Coaches and Umpires is of the utmost priority..
- Federal Law requires all Coaches and anyone that interacts with their youth baseball team to take the USA Baseball Abuse Awareness Course for Adults that satisfies the Safe Sport Act required by Federal Law. This is free or charge and you will get a certificate emailed to you at the end of your training.
- We follow Ohio law on Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest training and certification as well as a comprehensive pitch count limit rule to protect the players arms.
- We require all umpires to by OHSAA licensed and certified for the current season. This is to protect the players as well as having umpires that are updated on all rules.
- ALL Coaches must have Concussion training every three years and Sudden Cardiac Arrest training that is required by law each year.
- One parent of a child on a team playing in COYBL must also take the Lindsays Law training each year. They must complete the form and head coaches retain a signed copy.
- These are State and Federal Laws in place to protect youth.
Violation of our rules and policies will result in penalties up to and including removal from our league for a period of time to be determined by the league President.

HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Coaches
HEADS UP to Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, sports officials, athletic trainers, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion.
